NEW ALBUM UNDERWAY!
Feb 13th 2019
Starting March 4th, Todd Gilbert and The Undesirables will be entering the studio to begin recording the follow up original album to 2017’s “36”. We are also happy to announce we will be recording the album at a new local studio called Vehicle City Sound Works. More details will be revealed very very soon as we approach the beginning of recording. There will be video diaries, fun teases and all sorts of cool stuff. We are eyeing a Fall release, if everything goes as planned. Stay tuned. Things are about to get CRAZY (in a good way, of course)!
2019 IS HERE! NEW YEAR NEW ME, INDEED.
Jan 19th 2019
Hey all. 2018 was wonderful and 2019 is full of fantastic things approaching. First and foremost…
A NEW ALBUM: It’s time to start getting to work on the follow up to “36”. No release date in mind yet but I’d love to have it out by this summer/fall. Writing and making demos has started. Studio has been selected to track in and recording will probably begin in a month or so. More to come on that.
2019 SOLO ONE MAN SHOWS: These shows will continue through 2019 until the release of the next album. Then they will be phased out as I focus a LOT more on my original material and shows. The cover gig is something that’s been fun but MY music is something I want to be the prime focus going forward. I will still do the occasional cover gig with the fellas in the band (our Soul Medicine gigs). By the end of 2019, however, any Todd Gilbert gig will be Todd Gilbert and the Undesirables (and will be original material). I truly appreciate everyone’s support of the solo cover shows and hope you will all come enjoy them the rest of this year. Then…after that…it’s BUSINESS TIME!
Thanks to everyone who has been riding along for the journey. It still has a long way to go and it’s only gonna get better. Thank you to my friends in The Undesirables (Terry Liedel, Rob Johannis and Tim Freeman). Making music with you guys is the best. Can’t wait to get in the studio together.
See you all at a show soon. Peace and L-O-V-E!
NEW YEARS EVE SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT
Dec 12th 2018
Happy to announce I will be taking the stage at The Corunna Road Bar to kick off the show this New Years Eve. I will be bringing the tracks and playing tunes from my new upcoming one man shows. I will be joined by Convergence Theory and Super Horndog. Show starts at 9pm. FREE admission (which you won’t find at many places on New Years Eve). Come have fun with us as we ROCK in the new year!
NEW 2019 SHOWS!
December 7th 2018
As 2018 comes to a close I want to thank all the fans and clubs who made the “Acoustic Madness” shows a success. It was a lot of fun getting in touch with my roots and stripping everything back to just me and a guitar. But now it’s time to rock a little more. I’ve been hard at work (in rehearsals) prepping a new show for 2019. While I will be still doing original shows with my backing band (The Undesirables) I am working on something new for the solo one man shows. I am calling it “An Evening With Todd Gilbert”. I will be performing solo, still, but I will be accompanied by full band backing tracks. These shows will be covers at some local bars, pubs, clubs and so on. I’ll be playing guitar and singing some great rock songs that inspired me to be a musician (and just some fun stuff to shake your booty to, also, if that’s your thing). Very much looking forward to these shows. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
See you all soon!

October 3rd 2018
I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who’s supported this. It’s been almost a year since the release of “36” (hard to believe) and things are still going strong. Arts Beats & Eats was wonderful and there’s been a lot of great solo acoustic shows, as well. What’s next? Well that’s a tricky question. While I am always writing (in one way or another) the time may be approaching to start work on a new original album. Lots of ideas are up in the ol’ brain … maybe it’s time to start laying them down. Aside from that, there are more shows on the horizon. The next time I will be taking the stage with the full backing band will be December 8th for The Whaley Children’s Jam (at Jester’s in Flint, MI). This event is near and dear to me and I’ve been a part of it for many years so it is going to be exciting to bring the boys and do our thing there. So I hope to see lots of you out there to support such an awesome cause.
For now, back to work. See you all out on the road somewhere.
Peace & love!

Sherman’s Lounge and my good friends in Fire and Ice (A Pat Benatar Tribute) are putting on an awesome benefit. The Get The Lead Out Water Drive will be taking place May 20th at Sherman’s Lounge (in Flint, MI). I will be taking the stage and doing a set (along with many other great bands from around the area). People are encouraged to bring bottled water to donate to the good people of Flint who are STILL without drinkable water (and now without a government that truly is trying to help). So WE are all going to do all we can to help. Along with great music will be great food, specials, a great selection of adult beverages and … most importantly … L.O.V.E.
More info (time, bands and other details) to be announced soon. Hope to see you all there.
THANK YOU MACHINE SHOP!!!
April 3rd 2018

Saturday March 31st 2018 was a night I will never forget. To walk into that room (a room I’ve walked in many times and saw many amazing bands), to see so many friends (old and new) and live this experience was truly a night to remember. I have played on The Machine Shop stage before but never like this. I was always in someone else’s band or project. This time, it was ME. My name, my music that I wrote being played by ME and some of my amazing talented friends that I am honored to call my backing band. Having my good friend Clay by my side, on stage for the 1st time, was also very special to me for many reasons (some personal but also because he was the 1st person to guest on my new album).
As I sat in The Machine Shop watching the band before us (E.Z. Duhzit & The Soul Jar) the butterflies crept in. It was only a matter of minutes before we took the stage and I brought my music to this amazing room, stage and audience. To say I was nervous would be a HUGE understatement. So much was riding on this show for me, personally. Yes I had my release show a little while ago but this was different. This was a culmination of so many years, miles, trials, blood, sweat and tears. For so long I have wanted to be on that very stage but with MY OWN music and, that night, it was finally happening. As E.Z Duhzit left the stage (after a great set) and we went up the butterflies got bigger as I began setting up. I strapped on my guitar and Clay walked over to help me get it dialed in and then gave me a smirk and a pat on the back as if to say “here we go, let’s kill it”. After my good friend Tony Tucker thanked everyone from stage (for the amazing benefit this was a part of) and the lights went down and we were announced and Katelynn counted us in … Left For Dead kicked off and we were off and running. The rush was amazing. By the 2nd chorus … the nerves were completely gone and I felt … home.
I have tried many other things since I left music a few years ago. Always chasing that feeling music once gave me, before getting burned out. But I never found it. Not once. I came close … but this … this was IT! When the time came to talk to the audience all I felt was love. LOVE! All I could communicate was L-O-V-E. I hope they felt as much love from us as I felt from them. I hope that what we do on stage touches their hearts and I hope it reaches people. That’s my goal. That’s why I do what I do. That night … it really felt like we all did just that.
After the end of the set I was exhausted and sore but also over the moon and felt whole again. This show, this environment, these people, the music, the love … this was the final missing piece. This was the exact show that my soul needed to know that I am on the right path and the stage is where I belong.
Thank you so much to Dustin (at 711 Entertainment), Kevin Zink (of The Machine Shop) and Tony Tucker (of Krystal Jo’s Diner) for having us and for believing in me and my music. Thank you to my amazing backing band members (Clay, Katelynn and Kosta) for believing and being on this amazing ride with me. Most of all, thank you to each and every true friend and fan for your undying love and support. I can’t wait to see what happens next and I can’t wait to see you all again, from the stage.

READY TO ROCK MACHINE SHOP
Macrh 25th 2018
Just getting back from today’s rehearsal. I have to just say this … I am a very lucky human being. Not only am I surrounded by AMAZING musicians but I am also surrounded by AMAZING friends. I am so thankful that the people who join me on stage are BOTH of those wrapped all in one. Making his first, of many, appearances with me on stage March 31st is my good friend Clay Frink. You may remember him from bands like Dixie Hustler or Sour Jane. Clay also was the lead guitar player on my 1st single “I Don’t Mind The Rain”. Clay is bringing such an awesome rock and roll style to the stage. This is seriously going to be a show to remember.
I am also joined by the best rhythm section I have ever played with. Katelynn Corll (on Drums and Backing Vocals) and Kosta Kapellas (on bass). I am beyond excited to be taking this show to The Machine Shop stage and all for a wonderful cause. I will also have copies of the new album (36) on sale at the merchandise area for just $10. If you’d like more details on the show (and any others) just head over to the “Concert Dates” section of this website for all other info. Hope to see you all March 31st!

A SWEET SWEET RETURN
Feb 24th 2018
There’s so many feelings going through me after the show last night, February 23rd (at Flint Local 432). To stand on stage in front of a packed house … to be supported, on a great bill, by awesome acts Ashley Peacock and Crimson Highway … to have sound ran by my great talented friend Jeff Glasco … it was all so incredible. But the most incredible part was the feeling to be back. To be back on stage with great friends (Katelynn Corll, Kosta Kapellas, Kris Kress and Taylor VonBrockdorff) as my backing band. It’s such an amazing feeling to have so many, after such a long time gone, support and believe in what I am doing. It took me 36 years (and a few years off in between) to truly find my voice as an artist/musician. On this night, one thing was certain. This is what I was meant to do in this world and I’m going to keep doing so as long as I physically can. Thank you to everyone who helped make the show possible and to everyone who came and rocked out with us all. See you all at the next one!
